cause its mine. It was a lot of work but like you I already had the brush guard. If you can try to find a used t-17 that needs painting anyway because after the welding it will need repainting. Sorry I don't know the part numbers. But yes it is steel, not the aluminum one.I first made a mock up of the brushguard bracket out of thin plywood to test fit on the bumper. You only have a chance once to make the cuts right. After getting close with the plywood I transfered the pattern to the steel and cut it with a cutoff wheel. Then hand filed the final bit until it fit just right. I used a TIG welder because it makes pretty welds.
The skid plate was made by Superlift.

dale you are da man
dude you are da man.
let's talk more about the procedure...
did you do the welding yourself on this TJM/brushguard merge?
damn that is a nice truck.
are you happy with your brushguard, did it come painted black
what's your winch

dale can you take another picture of your skid
the only brush guards I could find by superlift have flames or oval cut into them
what is the model # of your black one or did you paint it
people seem to be knocking your solution welding brush+tjm but it looks way strong to me and way better than the warn bumper. that tjm of yours is DOPE
how do you think the waag would look on that TJM
I am not going to be able to weld it myself...
and tell me what tjm I need again? (model number)-
if I have to paint it anyway i would get a used one.
what kind of training do you have to do welds like that
also what is that behind your skid, another radiator?
it is so much fun modding trucks when will I ever be done? never i think

I don't think anyone is knocking it, they just realize it is a lot of work and if you can't do it yourself you may be better off just buying a bull bar like the t-15 or t-13 or an ARB or one of the many custom bumpers out there.
Dude you're killing me, just look back at the post I made earlier and you can repeat it to your heart's content.
T-17, T-17, T-17.... Well, as far as the welding the most help I got was from the welder's handbook by Richard Finch, althought a BS in mechanical engineering didn't hurt any either. You will just need to buy a welder and practice some on scape metal. I originally choose a TIG welder because I was doing some custom gunsmithing and that's the best for that. If you really want to learn, a MIG welder would be the easiest to learn fast. TIG welding is one of the harder methods to learn but produces the best welds on thinner pieces (less than 1/4 inch) and will also let you weld aluminum.
That is a tranny oil cooler behind the skid.
