not sure that i have the absolute highest, but maybe the highest untouched.. I have a 1982 SR5 long bed, everything is original ! I am the second owner and have put 37,xxx miles on it myself. Its been to Alaska and back twice and makes frequent trips of 600 miles +
391,872 miles
391,872 miles
You beat me by about 20k miles hijack. I have a 1991 4Runner with the 3.0, never had a HG replaced, never had the engine or tranny rebuilt. I'm shootin for at least 400k, but I don't know if I'll make it.
just rounded 370k less than a week ago.

A. 320,102 miles
B. 22 RE, 5 speed manual, 4x4
C. '88 Toyota 4Runner SR 5, purchased new in 1988; currently runs great, 22 mpg around town
D. Accidents
1. deer strike (replaced front bumper and lower cowling)
2. minor fender bender (lower portion of left door repaired)
3. car wash broke left power mirror
E. Repairs
1. 2 starters
2. 4 alternators (last 3 are rebuilds from Adv Auto with lifetime warranty)
3. 2 clutches- did last one myself, took almost 3 days. I'll be faster next time.
4. 1 timing chain- jumped at 165,000 miles necessitating valve job. Bought all parts to replace timing chain again; never done it before so I'm waiting to get up enough nerve to the tackle job.
5. replaced valves (see above)
6. 1 blower motor
7. 1 power brake booster
8. 1 master brake cylinder
9. 4 master clutch cylinders--learned my lesson; don't buy cheap after market brands. Got OEM unit for about $50 from Partsgeek.com
10. 1 water pump
11. 1 muffler
12. shocks 1 time
13. 1 electrical switch in left rear tailgate latch which allows rear window to be activated
14. repaired horn--contact in steering wheel
15. 1 air flow meter (Adv Auto had best deal on reman. unit $125/12 mo warranty)
16. replaced left door hinges
17. replaced throttle cable, parking brake cable, passenger seat release cable and tail gate latch cables.
18. replaced radiator
E. Pending issues
1. needs paint job
2. minor surface rust on rim of left front wheel well and trim around left rear side window
3. needs new antenna--have but need to figure out how to get at old one
4. probably needs timing chain--had 2 22 RE engines where timing chains jumped at 165,000 miles. I'm at 155,000 on the replaced timing chain in my 4Runner; have all the parts, just need the balls to do it!
5. has always pinged in summer heat when accelerating up a hill--going to try SeaFoam treatment.Toyota service kept telling me bad gas. Bull!
6. bought Denso Universal O2 sensor ($43 from Amazon)--don't know if original needs to be replaced, but after 20 years I thought I'd just do it. Need to splice the wires into plug on existing sensor.
7. bought new resistor for blower motor (currently low doesn't work), but just need to put it in.
8. probably should replace all of my vacuum hoses
9. burns between 3/4 and 1 qt of oil/1,000 miles
10. front seat covers need to be replaced--Toyota no longer sells originals.
11. fuel sending unit only works for 60-90 miles after fill up, but low fuel light works
12. and does have the characteristic San Andreas fault line on the right dash top
B. 22 RE, 5 speed manual, 4x4

Straight 6 is a great motor. Had one in a FJ40 when I was a kid (young adult) and that thing went anywhere and ran like a top. I was like....on 18 or 19 or 20 (guess I killed that brain cell) and am now 38 so I cant remember the mileage, but it was a ton.
I drove that thing up a cliff, with bolders sticking out of it one time, my passenger thought we were going to roll it backwards. Damn, I wish I still had that old yota. I'd love to pick up another FJ40 but here abouts all the high dollar people pick them up for their kids and deer ranches, so any deals on them are gone quick if the thing is worth a darn.
I still (kind of) own a F-250 w. a straight 6 (I'm owner financing it to a friend who blew the motor in his diesel ford) and it is a runner. Has over 200K on the 1st motor and it runs, pulls and does great off road. Just dont try to pull a lot of weight, for a long distance. But real good torque.
My 2 cents.
Straight 6 is a good good motor.
