whats behind a 22re cylinder head?

Hi i wanna know what runs behind the cover plate behind the head i think its held down by 6 bolts? Its cause i have a leak drips from the top of the bellhousing and to the bottom of the transmission I just replaced my valve cover gasket and those half moon seals that go in the head. so i wanna knnow if oil runs through that cover plate or what? thanks

That is the EGR cooler, it cools the exhaust gas before it gets to the EGR valve and intake. As such, it has exhaust gas and coolant flowing through it.

Sure its coming from the top of tranny? Have you taken a flashlight while the engines running and looked back there? I've never seen a 22r leak from that back plate....like never..... sure its not ur valve cover? Might be a rear main going out.... check ur oil pan....
