Weird cooling issue w/ 22re
Hi guys, new to the forums here, just recently bought a 91 Toyota Pickup 22RE 2WD A/T to use for our mt. biking trips. My dad borrowed the truck today and he told me that whenever he took the truck up to 70 - 80mph, the temperature needle would start to climb. I am assuming that the radiator is clogged (but can a bad rad cap do this also??). I also noticed that it takes a really long time for the truck to achieve normal temperature (usually about 15minutes??) is this normal also?? what can you guys recommend me to check?? thanks, aight peace

ps- I did a search and didn't seem to find anyone with a similar problem as me.

Does it over-heat when the heater is on? Check this out: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...tml#Thermostat

Yeah thats why I didn't mention the fan clutch, cause usually after 40mph (I believe) the fan isn't needed anymore... I am going try and find time to do the thermostat and a coolant flush this weekend, any other input would help also, thanks aight peace
