not needed. The staking action only requires a few extra ft/lb to over-come. I have never un-staked a nut yet. ZUK

ZUK, any issues with keeping the nut tight once the seal is replaced and nut re-installed? I should stake it again, right? Maybe some loctite for things??

Considered a non-reusable part and for what they cost I always just get a new one.

Stake it with punch and hammer.

Can you tap the seal out without damaging it? I need to adjust the preload on my pinion.

you dont need to take the seal out just tighten the nut for more preload or loosen a hair and tap end of pinion with hammer to loosen preload. and as far as crushsleeves go i know ill hear it for this but after proper preload has been fouind and broke in there is no further use for the crush sleeve as long as the nut isnt going to move both my diifs dont have tham as well as my old jeep, dont need them.

Don't use crush sleeves. I got shims and a solid spacer.
