tundra brake upgrade on a 94 4runner
i always wanted to upgrade the brakes on it, the opportunity came to get a set of disc of a tundra and calipers, never seen it done on a 1994 4runner, so,
well, this is what i did,
first removed the whole assembly out to start checking how to fit it, and see what the differences in sizes

few pics for comparing (ish) the size of calipers, and disc.

calipers bolt pattern dont match

the disc its touching too much the dust shield,so need to trim it (about 10mm around) and i will shave behind the hub, to leave it level to the back of the wheel studs

im sorry about my ignorance, but i dont know how many pounds difference,
all i know its by being bigger disc/calipers= bigger pad area,
im lucky that someone put already 1inch bore master cylinder,
so definitely it will be an improvement on my old rubbish braking power.

Interesting how new brake parts work better then old worn out brake parts!!
very funny, of course i tried first putting new disc, pads, refurbished calipers flushed system with new fluid, and still not happy with it
I got the same improvement just by putting all new stock parts on funny how that works.

Do you have a better picture of the bracket mounted, with and without the caliper?
While looking at various other brake upgrade threads (or maybe it was the widening a SFA with IFS parts thread) there was some discussion of people not trusting an add-on bracket for the caliper mounts (I'm not sure that I completely understand their concern) but are you worried about that bracket failing?
I like the idea though.
