update

I got a phone call Friday night (around 6) from a rep at TW. He was concerned because I had asked for matching sidewalls on the tires and they only had 3 in stock that matched. All 5 are Michellin (spelling) carcasses (again spelling) but they aren't "exact". I was stunned that they would call even before shipping to confirm that I was getting what I wanted. We talked for a few and I told him to send the tires as they will be black walls out.

I placed the order Friday and they'll be here Tuesday morning. Now THAT is what I call customer service!

I can't freakin' wait.

Call me partial and biased, but I don't like and don't trust retreads. My blowout, rollover near death experience weren't these treadwrights, but like they say, a bad apple spoils the lot.

I was under the impression that "OTR" means "off the road", which means they aren't legal to drive as daily driver but okay for off-roading. Are you using them only for off-roading or as DD too? I understood that if they don't have "OTR" as a classification, then the retreads can be used as a DD, otherwise they can't.

Anyone know for sure? I seem to recall having the above discussion with one of the reps from TreadWright. That's why I didn't go with them; the only tires that appealed to me were the OTR's.

Cheers

I dont know about your area, but if anyone were to look at my OTR's they wouldnt be able to tell the difference between an aggressive all terrain tire and a so called "OTR". I'm pretty sure its just a name designation. I doubt they are illegal for use on public highways. There would be some kind of disclaimer on the site.

All their tires are DoT stamped, they can all be used on the road.

yea i am stupid i did a Google search right after posting. i think their 35"+ tires are not suggested for on road use. but i think i am going to order them for my f150

from their FAQ "Yes, all of our tires size 33” and smaller are highway safe. Tires over 35” are made and designed for off-road use and should be used accordingly. Those sizes include: 315/75R16, 315/70R17, 35x12.50R15, 35x12.50R16.5, 35x12.50R17."

Wow, thanks a lot for sharing all this info on the Treadwrights. I didn't even know these existed. Few questions though. Now the tread that you see in the pics is the tread that you will get on the tires right? I'm just wanting some 31's with the BFG all terrain style tread, so that would be the 31X10.50R15 ATB's from their site right? Then I could ask and see if I could get them with BFG sidewalls? Anybody know what the ATB stands for? All terrain...? Haha, you guys with Treadwrights need to get on that website and write up some reviews. I think I see one review for the 31's. One more question, anybody on here running any of their All terrains whether they're the A/T, ATD, or ATB's?
Thanks guys, Jake

Jake,
The ones I ordered and have mounted are these http://treadwright.com/Tires-31x10_50R15_OTR-P15.aspx

Pretty darn close to a BFG MT but with less road noise and a lot better price.

The reviews are there and I'll be adding mine soon.

Just tried writing a review but for some reason the site's having problems. Will try again later this week.

Junkers: Post up some pics!
