tranny slips in reverse
I have a 90 4runner with 3.0 engine, and what my problem is is that when i put it in reverse if i just let off the brake and dont give it no gas it reverses fine, but when i give it gas it wants to slip, and when i let off the gas it will continue to go in reverse until i put my foot on the break of course. The fluid looks full and i have only had the vehicle for about a week, it drives fine in drive seems to shift fine. This is the first toyota i have owned so im not sure exactly how they run when all is well.

not sure what relay u are talking about but it might be inside the trans and to get to that u would have to drop the pan, all fluid and filter, and replace them.

oops meant solenoid that locks it in reverse and those are inside the trans. when u looked at the link did u see the area that covers the different trans? what trans do u have?
