A friend of mine have a 93 runner 3VZ-E with an auto tranny ( gear ratio idk) but she took it to a shop few months ago had the tranny replaced, and now has major problems. She has been back to the shop and had TWO other tranz. installed and always the same problems. Hard shifting in all drive gears and the spedo reads double road speed she cant get over 60mph or the truck shuts off automatically ( I assume a safety feature for throttle failure). But I was driving it the other day and went to the dirt and put it in 4 and noticed that the front tires spin faster than the rear on ALL STOCK TIRES 31' bfg all's. The shop doesn't want to warranty another tranny and she or I cant afford to purchase a new/ reman one and personally since there not normally a tranny shop I believe they have installed the wrong one. Can I find the right tranny through the dealer? Specialty shop?
Any help is awesome or if you live in ALb NM area hit me up SHE NEEDS HELP and im not seasoned enough to help..

 

The only reason the front and rear wheels would be turning at different speeds would be that the front or rear diff gears have been changed.
Sounds like they didn't check the speed sensor, They could have swapped it from the old one.


If you have a contract get a layer.

 

Is there a way to find the original tranz model that was stock in the truck and have the shop order a reman of that particular tranz. Swap the speed sensor and how would I check the gear ratio on it with out bustin it open? Cuz now that I we have talked to the shop owner and he agreed that some thing is not right and is willing to fix the tranz (fear of bad rep/lawsuit)
