Toyota full floating RV axle with FJ80 parts.

So, I have an experiment I'm going to start and it goes something like this...

I have a 1988 4runner with a blazeland kit. It makes the IFS ~6" wider. SA guys go ahead and mock it but it handles really well. I'm not really into crawling. If I was into going slow I wouldn't have dropped a supercharged 3.4 under the hood

I've been looking at options to match rear axle width. Apparently a Toyota RV axle can be used with FJ80 drive flanges and hubs and it's a full floater with the width I want!

Here's my question... Will the disc rear brakes from the FJ60 work as well on the RV axle? It looks like the bracket to hold the brake caliper on is part of the dust shield for the rear disc. Is the bolt pattern the same on the ends of the FJ80 as it is on the minis or is this where I'm going to get all fabby n stuff?

If this works out I'd like to have a full floater ~6" wider rear axle with FJ80 discs and parking brake for relatively cheap. I'm picking up an RV rear end for $200 this weekend, I'll use that regardless. I can get an FJ80 rear axle without brake caliper for $300 for the hubs, flanges, brake mounting stuffs, and parking brake stuffs. New rotors and calipers would be in the plan.

Does this sound legit or am I just crazy?

I appreciate any input and I'll share how this build goes if successful.

FJ80 rear axle is 63.5 wide with a 6 x 5.5" bolt pattern

Full float motor home axles from what I remember are 6 x 7.25" bolt pattern
and it seems like you would stuck with the 14" dually rims. I could be out in left field though

had this toy motor home site book marked, you might find some good info there

edit: random thought- get the idea of wanting a full float rear (i want the same thing)
have you considered a T100 rear axle since you are basically the same width up front as a T100

What got me thinking of this idea was this post from decade ago. No pics but a few people seem to have successfully used the fj80 hubs and drive flanges withe the stock dually axles to convert the bolt pattern.
