Torsion bar trouble

So I'm about to under take the task of installing a lift kit, I was told by a shop who looked it over that I need torsion bar rear mounts, however I have absolutely no idea what part that actually is, my Haynes manual says anchor arm but I'm not sure if that's right, if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated!

Im not sure what your question is, what type of lift are you putting in? They’re saying your truck does not have torsion bar anchors/adjusters?

I have a 94 4runner and I'm trying to put in a complete 2" ome lift including torsion bars, the shop I brought it too said I need to replace rear torsion bar mounts, the part that sticks out of the frame, all I'm asking is if it's an actual part I can replace or if it's part of the frame. The pics I included were from a forum post showing what I'm talking about. thanks in advance

Are the mounts that are welded to the frame rusty or cracked? Or are the adjusters just rusty and seized? You need to figure out exactly what they mean.

This is what I'm talking about, is this a built in piece of the frame or is a part that can be replaced and if so what is the part number

Frame...

They are welded in, some or all of these brackets were order able once upon a time.

The brackets look better than the frame from way over here on the other side of the internet. Take a wire wheel to them and see what you really have under all that mess.

Are you sure they weren't talking about the arms on the ends of the torsion rods, you can't see these in the pictures and they'll have to come out to get eyes on them anyways.

These brackets are pretty basic, could knock them out in a day (mostly) with a good press. The arms are a whole other story those are cast.

Yup. the area you circled is a weld.

Im assuming the shops concern is rust, but was there anything specific they said about cracks in the mount?

So your hardware is most likely hammered from cancer, but your brackets look highly suspect as well. How is the other bracket? Link for new hardware below.

have new hardware from my local Toyota dealership ready to go, the bracket I believe is what I'm trying to find a replacement for, the other side isn't as bad isn't impressive by any means

Have you tried to finding parts using an overseas vendor?

Not seeing any dollar amounts on your estimate I am just guessing, but I'd say it'll cost you almost as much as a solid axle swap.

That does seem like it will be a pricey repair bill but the only thing I see is the rust issues and the spindle replacement.
everything else is more or less routine wrenching.
if you have the resources to do sas, you can fix what you already have, for less. Just my 2 cents
