Dude! That's a killer deal!

Colt wants $400 for both including custom shims. Which is not the way I would really want to do it(if given a choice). Custom buckets > custom shims all day long. How anybody's gotten away with doing it any other way still befuddles me.

Well, me knowing about your "deal" isn't going to do him any good when it comes time to negotiate a price to do mine.

Wait...what the hell are those? And why are there 15 of them(for a 12 valve engine)?

I mean...those look like custom shims to me. Not like custom bucket tappets(which the shims install into).

Are you sure those are what you're needing?

I can't figure out what you're even supposed to do with them.

OOOOHHH! NOW I GET IT!!!

Those ARE custom shims(that's what I'd call them anyways). Except they go UNDER the bucket tappets. Not ON TOP of them.

Cool! They should work great then. With a few extra...just in case(of what I don't know...but more than enough of them is better than not enough)

Right on!

They go right on top of the valves like little hats. And under the shims and buckets. And I guess they thought I needed 16 of them. Crower said a normal price would be 200-250$ ...but I kinda think that was an exaggeration because most of the things he told me have been a little exaggeration

Some hippy is confused again..

A "lash cap" sits on top of the valve stem, but doesn't interfere with the keeper / retainer.
Roller tipped rockers, bucket over valve, even the 22re can use them.

Where have you been?

I need lash caps on my motorcycle to compensate for adjuster pitting on the valve stems due to a poor design on Honda's end.. and that 10K rpm beast has pushrods.
Did I mention it's a 4v per cylinder V-twin, from '82?

So someone is claiming something without knowledge of the facts...
... yet again another example of an inexperienced mouth being opened.
