x2 on the aftermarket starter, usually no good.....

What did the original starter do that made you want to replace it.

A remote button/switch is exactly what I had done and it starts every time now.
originally,I had an issue where every now and then (always at the most in opportune time) it would not start. (90 4runner 3vze). I replaced every fuse and relay known to the ignition system, replaced starter and even the ignition switch and it always seemed ok...then...it would happen. it wouldnt start. Always had to have it jumped. No mechanic could ever figue it out. Not even the stealership...so...I had a buddy of mine wire up a starter button under the dash.
I still use the key to the on position and then hit the button. It has never let me down since (fingers crossed).
If you do the same,by wiring up a button...be sure to wire it in conjunction with the Cold Start Injector.
if not...on cold days,it will crank forever before starting. Found this out first hand.
Good luck and happy cranking!

I got an after market starter from Autozone...no problems at all.
If all else fails...remote switch it. Im not promoting anything of NOT fixing the original problem, all Im saying is if all else fails. Switch it...just hide the switch!
