Upgrading Brake Calipers

About two weeks ago (i think) i read a thread posted here that someone upgraded the brake calipers on there 1st gen 4Runner using V6 calipers off of a 94-95 truck. My 86 4Runner has a solid axle swap with stock rotors, so would it be possible to swap the V6 calipers on to my 4Runner with out going with vented rotors ?, from what i remember his 4Runner stopped alot better after the swap. I do want to do the vented rotor upgrade eventually, just no money for it right now.

Hmmmm, not sure I can help with your SA rotors. I do recomend, because algranger runs this on his '84 SA yota and me as well, is find a dual diaphragm brake booster out of the V6 trucks/4Runners. Just that will make a difference. I thought I had it made with disk brakes in the rear, the dual booster makes it like butta!!!

I already have a dual diaphragm booster and master cylinder off of a 93-94 4Runner, and it did make a noticable diference, and sometime in the future i will upgrade the front rotors.

Man I wish I had 37's...

With your setup, I know it's not "cheap," but why not throw disks in the back?

I know that one of my OEM calipers the small puck was all siezed up. Wouldn't hurt to rebuild, who knows that may make a difference.
