lol
thanks for that compliment.
I weld on our ranch but thats only a few times a year. My welds hold but look terrible.
I am a full time fine artist and I am always amazed at people who can weld well. I really think it is an artform.

yes...it would appear you are leading.
Besides the 4.88 re gear front and back and the aussie, this is as far as I have got in the past 2 weeks
Marlin seals greased up to keep the little ring from flying out when I beat it in with a BFH...

Redneck seal driver compliments of Pierson building centers PVC department.. The white tube has a 2lb diving weight inside for added weight!

.....and my birfs back together with new inner and outer snap rings (what a total PITA!)

nice build so far toyo, i really wish that i would have used thoes marlin seals instead of the "el crapo" seals that came in the TG rebuild kit.. dont worry though i didnt use there chinese bearings that kit comes with haha they had more play in them then used ones did , i had all new timken wheel and trunions from my other truck i never got to instal. i really dig that redneck seal driving device lol nice to see some one with some imaganation. your truck is exceptionaly clean and i cant wait to see what it turns out like after your done with the sas...... ps: i really envy your view of the ocean, i live rougly 1 1/2 hours ( on a good day with no traffic on hwy26) from the beach.. but one day maybe ill get to live on the coast line... maybe

The lift I am doing is the same as the one in this picture. This was done by Mikes Specialty Repair in Garberville Ca. MSR on here.
It is roughly 3" over all and will clear 33's. It is the perfect height for my needs.

This build is not the "traditional" SAS. I am having custom leafs made to keep my overall lift around 3 to 4." This rig will not be as high as most of the SA swaps. Yes, I know the articulation will be less than the 3" leafs. My reasons for going this route- this is my DD, I wheel this rig but it is more of a hunting rig. I like the solid axle. My IFS needs a ton of work. It is a learning process and it has been fun so far.
I am in the process of building a 1st gen for rock crawling and more hardcore wheelling.

Sooo. My tire size will be 32's for now but they are getting worn and I will most likely get 33 SS TSL's.

So who is building the leaf pack and what springs are they using? Is it like a RUF lift or a set of deaver springs?

The stacks are being built by a guy in Garberville. American steel like the Old Man Emu ones. I saw some today while I was in Garberville. They are super beefy! Spendy but beefy.
I got my front 3rd re geared and set up today.
My knuckle rebuild kit comes on wed. from Marlin

I have a couple of leads on a plasma and I think I will do that hole now before I even tear out the IFS.
