Smitty bilt front and rear tube bumpers

Ant body have any experience with these bumpers. I want a receiver hitch on the back and it seems like a good bumper. Kinda like the front one too. What are your opinions.

I've got a rear Smittybilt and it works great, but I hate it.

Bulky, heavy, ugly, cuts off a lot of departure, and it's rusting like CRAZY from the inside out. Do yourself a favor and get a bumper from Marlin or All-Pro.

Years ago, Smittybuilt used to make a great product. I had some of their stuff on my old Commando. That was part of the reason that I went with their bumpers on my truck -- BIG MISTAKE!!!

They are using thinner steel, and their chroming sucks -- rusting like crazy. I've seen even worse on their painted ones.

In short, don't do it! There are far better alternatives out there.

My thoughts exactly. Smitty would be a last resort.

That is why smittybuilt went out of business at the end of last year

Cool

I have seen some of their new stuff and think it is made pretty much just for show (thin material) I also have been looking at bumpers. The stock one on my rig is starting to rust out (typical) I like the ones from Sanoran Steel a lot and wil probably get one from them or fabricate one myself. I think some of the aftermarket ones are way better than original especially for the price.

I have an older one on my '88. It works well for towing and knocking stuff over. Apart for a few scratches it has held up well for me.
