Small coolant hose at back of motor?

Oh and if not its the thing in the pic at the top of this thread to the right of the #3 hose with the tubes coming out...

oh and if searching for this part it is also called a bi-metallic valve, thanx again...

THE HOSE IS 5/16”. The 3/8 is too big. Got the hose from Autozone for about a buck.
I just did this fix. Hands still black with grease.
Other observations. What James Dean mentioned in his write up is spot on. I’m not a super mechanic but try to do all work myself or with a friend. What I did not realize or think about is the coolant pressure in the line. I pulled the hose off and the coolant gushed out. So just be prepared for that. After that, pretty straight forward. Just a really tight squeeze with my monster hands.
