Unhappy Signing off....:(

Want to say I will be signing off for good fellas.....my Yota bit the dust yesterday and I have ran out of patience and money too keep pouring into it.
Out in the woods yesterday and blew my Headgasket, took it to my buddy at Nally ( Service Manager ) and had it checked out.
She was pronounced DOA due to a : Blown Headgasket(rear area by firewall), Leak from valve covers(fixed twice), Power stearing pump failure, U-Joints almost gone, O2 Sensor code, and a shot Water Pump(went out after oil cooler was fixed)
All in all the repairs would have cost more than the truck was bought for, $2000,
After learing all of this I asked my friend for His best salesman, and bought a 2008 Chevy Cobalt........don't all clap at once people, but the car has great pep, better MPG, and under a complete bumper to bumper warranty.
I just want to say thanks for all the help you guys have given me, and in the future if I know anyone with a 4Runner, I will send them your way.
Take care..

Or do THIS
seriously though I haven't been on here long but its sad to see someone go. I hope you find someone else who will love that truck and treat it right. that to me is the worst part of parting with a vehicle you love. the knowledge that the next owner might abuse it.

The Cobalt should be good till the warranty runs out. But then you can get something else. As for the Toyota diesel link I went that route but I've got a more powerful motor in mine. Here is a link to my swap running just after I was able to start it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMQ2QX0QRD4 I still need to get another video up of it done.

Just because you don't have a Toy doesn't mean you have to go . Save your pennies and get a truck with a 22re for a weekend warrior and drive your cobalt as a DD.

I agree, definitely no need to go man. Now's the time to upgrade! I went from a '95 to a '99 (3.0 to 3.4) and it was the best thing I did. I loved my '95 but the 3.4 was amazing.

Stick around bud!

Wow... Your Runner died a very stereotypical 3.0 death,
with head gaskets, water pump, o2 sensor, etc..

Thats a shame, man. You oughtta hang around and wait for the right
truck to come up for sale.

Whoa dude, the head gasket was obviously an act of God. Claim it as such on your insurance. Go on, all the cool kids are doing it.

Yeah that's what I'd do. None of what you mentioned is major except the head gasket & it's a well known problem. a 3.4 swap would fix everything but the u-joints & that's just maintenance stuff. (assuming you do the swap right)

How many miles were on the engine? Was it an original engine?

put a v8 in it. small block ford should do it. 5.0 thats what i will do if and when the 3.0 retires. that would fix all your problems and blow away any 3.4

It had 178,456 miles on the original engine, About 50 miles before it crapped the bed on me I had replaces all wires, sparks, distributor, rotor, brakes, and about a 100 or so miles ago had the timing belt replaced along with the faulty Fan idler bracket(berings seezed up and *&%^%ed everything up)
Don't think I had the money to do that or anything.....tax return...lol
