I changed so many things at once so I have no frame of reference (engine mods doubled my HP at the sametime I did the valve body mod). Yeah it is a lot of $$$ but the reason its recommended for boosted engines is to save the tranny from destruction. Here's some more info on that:

If someone is still running around the stock HP I'd say skip it.
