sensitive steering

Hey guys I have a 1990 4x4 pickup, recently rebuilt the motor and added a 3" body lift. Drove fine before now steering is super sensitive. Can turn lock to lock sitting still with 35/12.50 tires. I did nothing to the alignment so that should not be an issue. I have tried new gear box, new pump and new lines. Any help would be great, I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. Thanks

Sensitive like you can’t keep it center and it wants to go left or right while going in a straight line? But feels tight with no play??

I mean this thing has super power steering, acts like too much pressure. I can turn the wheel with almost no resistance while it is sitting in park at an idle and it has 35" tires on 10" rims. it is pretty much impossible to drive down the road

So, you want it to be hard to steer?
Is your truck totally stock with just a 3" body lift?
Maybe a loose nut behind the wheel?

I really do appreciate you people who take time out of their busy lives to respond to my issue but I myself don't have time for any of your ridiculous posts. I am asking a legitimate question and asking if anyone else has had or heard of this issue. Thanks again to anyone who is offering real advice or answers

Dear Sensitive Smith,
Take your truck to an alignment shop and have them tell you what's wrong.
Or, if your suspension is stock replace every bushing and joint in it and take it to an alignment shop.
Or, if you have done a solid axle swap get some shims to increase the caster and replace every steering joint add a steering stabilizer and take it to an alignment shop.
Or, take the radiator cap off and replace everything else.
Or, give enough information to start with and maybe you will get more serious replies.

Maybe something in the steering shaft was bound up before and now it's not because it's at a different angle

If it started after the body lift I have to wonder about the steering shaft or the rag joint. Did you have to extend the steering shaft? The rag joint is ok for stock steering and stock size tires but they can't handle the load of large tires. See how it does while someone steers. It might shock you when you see how it can wrap up and look like it's about to tear off.

If all that is good maybe you need a steering damper??
