I am finally getting my 4runner back this weekend. I had someone replace the head gaskets, heads resurfaced, valves, knock sensor, timing belt, and water pump. The price ---- $850. The only part I bought was the gasket kit from engine builder..

My only question is break in. What do I need to do for the break in period or not do?

depends.. u said valves.. wut was done to the valves??? bored out new valves oversized? for the new head gasket, knock sensor, timing belt, water pump no break in but valves is different.. wat was done exactly

 

What kind of Head gasket (graphite or MLS) did you get and did you have the block resurfaced too? I'm working on my 90' 4runner now doing the same thing.
