Runner shuts off while driving

Hey guys. Been a while. My runner recently starting shutting itself off while driving. The injectors will not pulse and therefore won't start. Funny part is I can shoot it with a little starter spray and it will fire right up and run. I took to my mechanic and he tested the igniter. It was bad so I replaced. Still does it. He also checked the computer. It checked bad as well. Signal received but no output of signal. I replaced it as well. It runs a heck of a lot better because it actually fixed some other issues I had going on. I thought I had finally fixed the problem until last night. I went to crank and it just turned over and over. Nothing. I shot it with starter fluid. Cranked right up and I was on my way. Any ideas? This is really getting annoying. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm.... That is really odd! I'd try to stay away from the starting fluid tho, that stuff is baaaaad on pistons! Anyway... sounds like its obviously a fuel system issue, so... I'd start with fuel filter..replaced it recently? Then move on to the electrical components of the fuel system, possible a C.O.R., afm, etc... There are a number of things that can shut the fuel down, so I'd get a multi meter, F.S.M., and a 12 pack of your fav beers, and start testing

If it's just a starting issue, I'd look at the cold start injector. If it runs fine once started, it's probably not the fuel system or electrical.

Since it won't fire at all when cranking, it is probably not the MAF or COR.

^ thats a good point.... Maybe run a compression test, as that can and will cause starting issues, incorrect timing can as well...

Thanks guys. Compression is fine and the truck runs fantastic which is why this is so odd. The fuel pressure is fine also when this happens. What would cause the injectors not to pulse other than what I've already tested and changed?

It's just strange because it is so intermittent.

Does it surge (fuel starvation) or does it just simply turn off? If it doesn't surge, my bet would be that it's not fuel related.
