Debated posting this for the last year and half. Probably just needed some distance from the fire to let it go. My family lost our house in the Tubbs fire here in Santa Rosa, CA on October 9th 2017. We receive a reverse 911 call at 1:25 AM to evacuate. Looked out the bedroom window to fire coming down the hill towards our neighborhood. One of those made for TV moments where you grab the wallet/keys/cell phone, put the wife/kid/dog in the truck out front and run for it. My '89 Runner was in the garage, no chance to get it out. Lost everything, but we have good insurance, so, building back now, house should be done in three months. My son and I picked up a 1997 Landcruiser as a replacement, but, it will not be the same without the removable top.
I know I have not been active here in a number of years. I got the rig where I wanted it and wheeled the heck out of it with my son. Thanks to everyone who helped out over the years with advice and input.
Wow, terrible I can't imagine the pain. So sorry for your losses. Glad you are in a position to look forward and rebuild
It might take some time, time heals all....
Good luck
Dang, that’s poo as long as everybody is safe that’s all that matters, but it takes a toll on everyone...once you get rebuilt and your new rig going come back with happy pics please!!!!!!
man, I don't think ive ever seen a picture on this site that bummed me out so much. I know its repetitive but at least your family is safe. was a sweet runner!
