Wondering if anyone would have any idea how much I'd be looking at to have my 86 PU auto trans rebuilt? Not to sure what kind of trans came in these trucks but was curious if anyone would have an idea on price for an auto?

I had the misfortune of my first Toyota being an 88 runner with a 3.0 and the auto tranny. I know the transmissions are not the same between 86 and 88 but I can tell you that in my experience having an auto tranny rebuilt is entirely dependent upon what the issue is, and can range from several hundred to several thousand. I would think that you could find a replacement used transmission for a few hundred bucks. if your really lookin for a good time, go ahead and swap to a w56b and never look back. the early autos are not very desirable.
