So I may have jinxed myself a buddy came over yesterday and I was showing him my new to me 87 4runner and I rolled the window down with the key and back up he says "Im surprized that thing still works" to which I responded "DUH, its toyota ofcourse it still works. Well I went to the store rolled the window down with the key again to load groceries rolled it back up with the cab switch once inside. Got home rolled it down with the cab switch unloaded groceries then tried to roll it up with the key and NOTHING, went to the cab and with the key on and hitting the UP switch I can here the relay clicking but no movement. opened and closed the tailgate a few times and double checked the wiper but still nothing. any help is appreciated.

Sounds more like a wiring or motor issue.
Checked flex cable between body and tailgate for broken wires?
Access motor, disconnect connectors, connect directly to good battery.
Disconnect connector to the rear wiper assembly. This will eliminate doubt on wiper park sensing switch.
