Rear bumper bracket for a 3 in BL

Does anyone make a rear bumper bracket that will lift the bumper 3 inches to match the BL?

I know I can re-drill the mounting holes on the existing bracket but that wont make up the 3 inches.

Thanks

If you have any offroading or machine shops, they'd be able to make you one easily. Depending on how many bends they'd have to put into the steel, you're lookin at anywhere between $10-30 a bend. Not sure if anyone sells a "professional" kit, but I'm sure if you did a little searching you could proabaly find a place that does.

Someone on one fo these forums posted pics of brackets they made that looked really simple and plenty strong.

If I can figure out where that was I'll post up a link.

They were made from flat steel and cut to shape, then welded or bolted to the frame.

I searched and didn't find them. I also searched for a post I did and it didn't show up. I ended up searching for all posts by me.

It doesnt say how much of a BL that is on the one pictured in the above link.
I guess it doesn't matter though the process is the same.

Looks like if I take it to a local welding shop they could cut some new brackets for me out of a plate.

Still it would seem to me..that if BL's are being sold the need for the rear brackets is there...I mean they kits come with front brackets...

I am thinking ( I know scary) MAYBE I could make these.

Not sure how thick the plate needs to be though? Any thoughts on thickness?
How much would a piece of plate cost? roughly.

I would have to use my grinder to cut them out..not fast but would get the job done.

I could make a template out of cradboard.

Does this sound reasonable?

Most rear OEM bumpers attach to the body and not the frame, thus they move up with the body lift, so need for brackets.

The bumpers on the Trucks attach to the frame it is just the runners that are on the body right?

Wabbit....I know you do alot of work on these vehicles. Does what I wrote above seem doable for making a bracket?

I am by no means a welder or done any kind of fabrication.
What thickness of plate or roughly how much would plate cost?

Thanks

Joel
