i really like that paintjob, do you have anymore close up pics of it?

i was wondering, with rattle can paint....wont it come out pretty thin??

how much did the 12 cans cost? if it is thin, would it be to hard to double it?

without seeing one of these jobs in person i'm having a hard time determining if this is a sufficient paintjob for something to look good in everyone's eyes as a daily driver, or if it will just look decent and mostly be adequate for a trail rig, easy to fix if its scratched off...

if i found a truck with bad paint this would be a possible option, but i'm weary about how it compares to a spray gun and air compressor job, including clearcoat. but i guess being shiny isnt the point here is it... hmm. maybe i should just get a bigger picture of some more examples.

Roll on using Durabak. It is really rough and you can use it to fill in with when you scratch or dent it. Also you can get some really cool colors. I used bright yellow on my Vehicle. Really bright in the sun. Needs some good prepping but the stuff does not come off.

how's the finish turn out? nice and shiny? that sound really hard. lol..the angles and such. but i did read a thread on here about that....

sounds like a decent idea...but a pain in the ass. i do have a nice compressor and the spraygun to do a 'standard' or 'proper' paintjob.... but cheap is nice too...and that method isnt the cheapest.

but i'll look into this. thanks.

A lot of it just relies on proper prepwork, and sanding. To do a "good" spraygun job takes a lot of work, even with the cheaper paints. what really seems to make the difference with both spray gun, and roll on work is color sanding. If you're just looking to bang a paintjob out in a couple hours you're gunna want to go with rattle cans.

i hate prepwork... this has been going by so slow!! maybe its cause im kinda anal. oh well. im done with the sanding, the bondo work, and the primer work. now all i think is left is the taping and the actuall painting.

make a few different cut-outs of cardboard or equivalent material. hold it where you want and blend as desired.
reversing the cutout (DRIED) will give you the reverse match too

ok,sorry i didnt get back sooner, but i just got back from moab. i have received many compliments on my paint job. and when i told them it was via rattle can most didnt believe it!! im not saying that i did the best job ever, i am kinda disappointed with is to tell you the truth. but as far as a rattle can job goes i cant complain. i honestly think it was more work than it was worth. i will never do it again. i could have just as easily done this with my compressor and a gallon of paint, but wanted to try the rattle can.
i will post pics soon, after i get my poor dusty truck washed.
