mine took me about 12 cans. i put 4 cans down for the white and 4 cans for the top. then only 2 cans of light grey and 2 cans of dark grey. i used Krylon

 

I did my old truckwith rattle cans, I sold it to a friend about 4 years agao and it is still the same.

 

If you want the cream of the cream - go Aevero... but you can only buy it in cases of 12.

Painted this with good ol rattle can best part about the paint job is if I sctrach it touching up the paint is easy...

 

Sick paintjob man, mines got rustoleum camo series "deep forest green" with an inexpensive quick dry flat black paint for the stripes. I personally like the black paint better. I can't tell you how many times I've had to touch up the green. Now the green looks ratty. anyway, pic:

 

only one heavy coat..and it is still holding up to this day, it has seen a rough winter and many..many times threw the bush, and the last time i had it out, she beat her way threw a trail that got hit hard from a intense storm the night before..i heard the trees digging into the paint and it came out with a minor scuff in it (not a scratch) ..this paint is amazing

indeed that is a CZ 250, i acquired it through a death in the family, i really don't know a whole lot about dirt bikes but when i gave it a kick (just to see what would happen) it felt like there was absolutely no compression, i'll fix it up one day, but for now, she sits tarped chained to the deck awaiting that day, its something neat to have

i have a question, obviously with the urban camo if you wanted the white to be the predominant color you would lay down the white first, but how do you make it easier to mask off the grays and blacks...using just blue painters tape would make for a really blocky look. i know they make really thin tape to do masking with, but that doesnt help when your spraying...

 

I laid out the tape on the truck then with a marker I made the shape I wanted. Then I took a razor blade and cut out the shape. Mask off the area around the shape and paint.

 

Rattle can is great for those that don't have access to a compressor and sprayer....I ran flat black on my '84 for 4 years..the mrs. gave me a nice paint job for x-mas...than the the truck became a dent magnet.
Just take your time doing it using some good stuff the folks have mentioned...

 

I was actually referring to 1 stage urethanes, Bought by the gallon and sprayed with a gun.
But always be careful when it comes to fumes, Last thing you want is a killer headache or hospital visit to go along with your new paint job.I found out the hard way spraying some flames on my old Isuzu at the 2am in garage, I thought that little bit wouldnt hurt anything but I was hurting quick

 

1-stage urethanes have the same problem as the catalized 2-stage urethanes. What you need to do is see if the paint contains any isocynates in the ingredients (e.g., toluene diisocyanate or 4,4,1 diphenylmethane diisocyanate).

Roll-on urethane is less of a problem than spraying, but paint containing toluene diisocyanate can be hazardous even when rolled-on.

The recommendation when working with urethane paint is to use a full face mask with a fresh air source supplied to it.

 

ok as promised here are some pics... ive been busy with alot of other stuff today so unfortunately my progress has been slow going. im done wet sanding the truck with 400 grit. now waiting for a friend to come over to help with taking my shell off. i will now begin to do some minor bondo work. and then more sanding!
