Radiator Stop Leak

Hey guys,
my radiator sprung a leak the other day, and my dad was telling me about this stuff called Radiator Stop Leak. I was talking to my brother about it, and he said not to use it because it can stop up your heating core. whats yall's opinion? I could see where this could happen, but i really dont want to have to completely pull the radiator out, and take it somewhere to get fixed.

your help is appreciated!

I'd never use that on a vehicle I cared anything about. Replacing a radiator is easy compared to replacing the heater core. I'd also be worried about the small coolant passages in the engine getting clogged up with it, as well as the radiator core.

The only time I'd consider using something like that would be if a vehicle was on its last leg and it blew a headgasket and the repair was going to cost more than the vehicle was worth.

those stop leak things stop more than just the hole in your radiator.

I agree...replace the radiator or have it repaired (if possible). If it's beyond repair, then just get a new one. Replacing the radiator is so easy, I did it in less than 45 minutes.

That Stop Leak stuff is junk.
