The aftermarket radiator in my truck is cracked and leaking, put in by previous owner. First I went to LC Engineering, but according to their fitment guide it will not work however some of their application listing dont specify any further than year and engine but others specify 2/4WD or auto/maunal trans. I was also looking at Mishimoto radiator but they say theirs is only for 2WD applications. As far as I was aware there was no differences in the radiators but it wouldnt be the first time I was wrong, does anyone have any other suggestions?
www.rockauto.com see what's available. Go online to Autozone, Pep Boys, Carquest, and the like. See what they have. Try NAPA online. For me and an '89 2wd 5spd 22RE pickup, a Spectra premium works fine. Less than a hundred bucks from rockauto.

Totally doable but there are so many crap radiators out there for these trucks, the one installed I can tell is relatively new but already cracked at the plastic/aluminum interface. My post on Marlin reminded me of Champion Radiators which is an all aluminum construction for less than $200 and is the go-to I believe. The compatibilty specs for the LCE one threw me off and I wasnt about to gamble $350 on it.
Bought a new CSF Model 850 (2 row) all metal (Brass/aluminum) radiator in 2013 for $158 from AJUSA w/free shipping. Not a leak to date and looks like new. The bracket on the top was a bit longer than stock so it fit back from the cross brace about 1/2 inch. Bolt up holes matched exactly.
Read they do make a 3 row one as well that I think is used in most 4x4 applications where over heating can be an issue.
I don't know what brand I have for radiators, but when I was in Yuma, Like around 99 or 2000. I went to a radiator shop, and got all metal, 3 cores for both my 87's. Told them what I wanted, they went into the back and brought them out. Never looked at the brand name. I mean, it was YUMA. 110° F during the winter was not unusual.
Anywho, the one in my pickup is still fine, and works great.
The 4Runner's radiator blew it's top one day, though, so it' got an OEM 2 core in it now. Plastic tanks, but it was available fast, so it got back on the road quick. One of these days, once my lovely wife get's out of the hospital, and all that garbage is taken care of, it's going to get an all metal 2 core. I'm in Oregon now, and it's almost never breaks 100° F. I mostly drive the 87 4Runner during the winter, as well (cold!), but I'm selling it, now that I got the 99.
Given a choice, I would go all metal 2 core here in Oregon. I plan on it for the 99 some day soon. Rock Auto is my friend
Replaced mine with a CSF2306. Perfectly happy with it, no issues. Direct fit.

I'd prefer an all-metal one if I was seeking a replacement.
Toyota does use plastic tank in their vehicles these days, but they're pretty high quality. I don't think the ones available to you via the parts stores or internet are anywhere close, and I think the $120.00 average price reflects that.
The CSF all-metal looks decent. Worth considering. Now just find it at a good price from a reputable seller.
Ken at CSF HQ helped me identify exact fit for my truck and shroud, CSF2306
