Question of the day Ebrake prob.

My Ebrake light lights up on the dash when I turn left? It will stay on for 30 sec before going off on its own or I can turn right and it will go off right then? The cable seems fine. It has fluid in it. Im confused as to what it could be. It is a 93 Toyota pickup 22re 4x4. Any ideas? Thanks.

It happens when just driving. Like smooth sweeping left hand curve. It's not when I turn the blinker on. It seems to be less frequent after the truck has been running for a while unless it is a sudden or abrupt turn. Weird.... I have had many of these trucks and this is the first for me

Sounds like a bad switch or bent actuator on ebrake lever. Check the switch.

Or it could be because your ebrake "has fluid in it". That can't be good.
Ebrake is a cable, no fluid.

Checked the switch in the cab and all seems good and unbent. The Ebrake all works fine with no problems and light works fine with it. (on off when pulled and disengaged) There is a sensor in the reservoir? Could that be going bad and as the fluid shifts inside it while driving cause it to come on? That's the only thing that I have left to go on.

The brake light comes on when you're low on fluid. It might only be 1/16th" low & do what you're describing. Same exact thing happened to me a few years ago.

Make sure that the rubber cover (on the reservoir), is firmly attached to the stem that the float is attached to.

I disconnected the plug going to the sensor in the reservoir and it stopped coming on so it has to be linked to that somehow. it is full and maybe just a little over the line. i may try a little more fluid in it and see if that helps.

New proBlem, the sensor is mounted into the side of the reservoir instead of the cap... I called Toyota and they show nothing of the sort. Am I the only one on earth with this type? Any info?

the sensor in the cap is probably bad. my 90 did the same thing.

i just unplugged the sensor, problem "solved". just check the fluid when you do oil, etc.

That's just it. The cap is blank. The sensor is in the side of the reservoir. Trying to identify what years had that or if it's aftermarket.
