I have a 91 4runner 22re and I am looking to replace the stock shocks with these ones I found on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-New...ht_3811wt_1356

I would very much like anyones input on this. Seeing that I can get 1 inch extra lift with these, do I have to modify anything else under the truck in order to accomidate the lift (like brake lines, etc). I do not off road very much but want to get into it a little and would like some advice.

I have found these ones as well, any preferences?

I don't have any first hand experience with the two shock examples you posted up, so I can't help you there.

Well, you have to change the springs

I'm hoping you know this already, but if not, here goes: Longer shocks will not lift your vehicle, but when you do lift your vehicle, you need to compensate with longer shocks.

If you're only going with a 1" lift, you will likely not have to worry about changing anything else (like brake lines for example).

If you're serious about lifting your vehicle, I wouldn't bother only doing a 1" lift. If you're going through the trouble of lifting it, at least do 2" (which would mean that those shocks wouldn't help you because they'll be too short.)

Thanks for the post. Yes, I do know that I have to replace the stock springs with larger ones. I think you are right about the lift, so I may go with the 2inch lift. Would the Skyjacker shocks work with a 2 inch lift and would I have to adjust or replace anything else?

Just keep in mind, that shocks by themselves do not provide lift. These will work if you stock height, or you already have 1" of lift.

I guess what I am saying it that if I bought a coil spring with 2 inches of lift would the skyjacker shocks work with these? Also would there be anything else that i would have to adjust or replace?

Well, the description says they're good for vehicles with 0" to 1" of lift. I would assume that they will be too short for a 2" lift.

The Skyjackers will work if you bought the coils. You might have to lengthen the brake lines. I added SDORI 2" coil spacers to the rear of my BEAST, and didn't have to touch the brake lines.

I bought a set of shocks from the same ebay seller that you posted and it took awhile for my parts to come in. After 2 1/2 weeks, 2 shocks came in and was never told the other 2 were back ordered. Then I got the other 10 days later after complaining. On their website it say 10 days guaranteed shipping, but it's really not. They just say that if it's not in after 10 days they will keep on communications with you till it gets there.

Save yourself a LOT of crap & just buy yourself a set of Bilsteins. I got over 100k miles out of mine. They are fantastic. You'll buy FOUR of those crappy Rough Country shocks for every Bilstein. Why do you want to lift? Larger tires? Don't do it. You open up a whole new can of worms....

thanks for the input TNRabbit. I just thought seeing that I will replace the coils that I might as well go with a bit of a lift while I am at it (if I don't have to invest a whole bunch of money.
