Duude
That's cool.

If I can't ask which dealership you work for, can you get me cost on parts?!?

So i take it you would agree every dealership needs to be judged on it`s own merits.

Just not thrown under the mantle of the evil Stealerships!!

Nah they're "big box" stores EVUL

You know what happens with the "bad" guys that leave those places right, they set up thier own shops w/ no one else to supervise them *cringe*

You can goto any shop and get vastly different service on two consecutive days. Have to judge each job, just the way it goes.

I ment to ask and forgot.

Hey Notraps was there an electric pump somehow rigged to your real thermostat location? Seriously thats gotta be the funniest thing I've seen in quite awhile man, thanks for posting it.

And I can imagine that you have a low turn over rate for technicians and some happy employees. There are times I like being flat rate, and there are times that I hate it!

It kills me that as a technician that specializes in driveability and intermittent diagnostics, I can spend some time on a car just to chase the problem down. While I am doing that for a meager 1 hour flat rate, one of the parts changers just did 2 brake jobs and an alignment.

But there are times where I will have a couple of maintenance timing belt jobs, or a heater core job, and some AC work, while they are standing around crying. And it is nice when you can do the job correctly, in much less time than flat rate.

There are some dishonest places out there, but there are plenty of places that are honest, but lack quality employee's. Honest, knowledgeable, and properly trained technicians are hard to find.

This is one of the reasons why hopefully in the next couple of years I will be a technical instructor.
