Problem with Bosch 4 hole injectors

Installed a set of yellow Bosch 4 hole injectors (the 2% more fuel ones) in my 89 3VZE 4runner & now I can't get her started. The cold start injector is doing its job as it tries to start for about 1 second (wont fire at all with the cold start unplugged). Any suggestions before I tear it apart & send these back? I already know Bosch Bad / Denso Good but at $120 for 6 I was really hoping for the best.

I would replace them with Flamethrowers Injectors and he is a vendor on here. To your original problem of it not firing. Will it run with a shot of starting fluid into the plenum? Are you sure you are getting fire to your injectors or fuel to the injectors? Toyota likes their ground wires and if you didn't get it installed, that could be holding you up. It sounds like you may have missed a connection somewhere to me or something similar. What was the reason you changed your injectors to begin with?

I believe these are flamethrowers from ebay. Everything is connected, grounds were all done previously, and I changed them because I had one leaking & all old. If I have time today I will try to get to the bottom of this.

Gremlins! I thought I forgot the injector harness ground but it was right where it was supposed to be. I pulled the EFI fuse, re-installed it and "it lives"! Runs better than ever. I have no idea what caused the problem but it is gone.

The new injectors have a different flow rate and pattern, pulling the EFI fuse is standard when installing any fuel modifications or replacements. Chances are it was putting on too much or too little fuel and by setting it back to "stock" settings it now flows the correct amount for combustion. Fuel won't burn without the correct oxygen ratio.

I should have mentioned that I did reset the ECU before initial startup.

Well, that is interesting! Glad it works though and hopefully it never flares up again.

It seems as though each rig reacts a bit differently since they own have their own flow rates and the state of the injectors you are replacing.

For me, increased low-end torque and smoothed out the power curve a bit, not much top end gain but a little. My shifts points can be lower now and not having to rev it up to 3000+ just to keep up with California traffic.

Plus if you polish up your old set, I was able to sell mine for about $75 on Ebay!

Your listing shows 1989 as the starting year. Will these not fit a 1988 3zve?

Fit? Yes.

Work? No.

The only ones he sells that will fit and work in an 88 3VZ-E are the http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-4Runner-Pickup-Celica-84-87-22RE-2-4L-upgrade-fuel-injectors-/261238752845?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd30b064d with EV1-male to denso-female wiring harness adapters.
