Power Window Issues

I have a weird power window issue on my 94 surf 3.0ltr.
When my driver side door is fully open ALL the windows open and shut perfectly fine from any switch. When I close my driver door no windows work (not from any of the window switches) also any other switch on the driver console wont work either while door is shut. I have read a lot of posts in regards to power windows but am none the wiser. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to remedy this problem.

Inspect the wires in harness where it goes between the door frame and the door for shorts?

Crimped or cracked wire shorts out when door closed.

Well done lads, I did as you said and wiggled the wiring going from the door to the front of the body and it worked a treat. Now the windows work like a dream. It's fantastic that forums such as these work. This could have cost me a quite a few dollars at the autoelectrician. Thanks very much greatly appreciated!!!!
