I can't wait until toyota unleashes a small diesel on the US! Ever since my first trips to Iraq and Afghanistan, and my experience driving their diesel hiluxes, I've wanted one BAD!!

There are talks that 2015/16 might bring a diesel to the Tacoma market. I'm still searching for some method to get a dual cab body imported somehow. Or at least the doors.

Seems lots of manufacturers are going the diesel route as of lately would love to see toyota do it again but I wouldn't even want to know the price of a brand new Tacoma diesel. Already when I go to the dealer and look at the window tags it's pretty fricken out of control

I wouldn't think it would be much more honestly. When you compare say VWs and their gas vs. diesel models, on the lot the diesels seem to only go for about $1000-$2000 more. At least for me, I'd be more than willing to pay that much more for one.

Don't blame you... Can't understand why they are not there in the States. Ive enjoyed the diesel here in Australia for past 25 years. The imported 1994 Hilux surf I have now has the first generation 1kzte 3 litre motor and despite being now 20 years old everyone always says to me that motor kicks butt when they drive it. All my friends have the latest Toyota direct injection diesels in their dual cabs, and whilst they are again more powerful and frugal, these motors only suffer from being a bit more fussy about the quality of diesel that must be used.

Toyota diesel motors last a long time if maintained properly - the toyota coaster bus here where I work is up to 690,000 klms and the compression is still good !

Not sure if you get them in the States, but even the Jeeps are available in diesel here in Oz !

Here's my 2nd gen 3 litre turbo intercooled Hilux surf (with 3rd gen 16" rims out of Japan). My best friend sold his petrol 94 4runner to get a diesel hilux just based on how my motor went compared to his. He was forever stopping and refueling.

Thanks for the comment !

Love those shots in the snow - 4runners are just such a nice body shape. Still loving my workhorse, and not yet sure what I'll replace it with if it wears out.

My 94 Runner & his 2010 hilux (both 1kzte motors)

Just have one question. Why didnt you use your warn winch to attach to somebody else's vehicle to assist with getting out? at first it didn't look very deep but i read on your signature that you are rolling on 35" tires and saw the muddy water was almost to the very top of your tires. So yea looks like you were in pretty deep lol

Kaleb, no need to be so modest lol Your truck is much cleaner looking then mine haha! All your truck needs is high steer and maybe a bigger lift and your truck will surpass mine by a long shot! No only will you have a clean truck like you already have but you will have the capability of getting some crazy flex out of it too! Your truck is one of my favorites. Also your bumper was one of the few that inspired me to finally build my own so thank you for that.
