Thanks! It's a '68 models that my dad built from the ground up with a '73-'87 (not sure exactly what year, but it was that generation), back in the late 90s. It was orginally a 2wd model.

Wow, with all of them installed, you're going to need sun glasses to go rock crawling

Nice rig he's got, Shawn! U 2!

Yeah, the rock lights are much brighter in person.... Well, I don't know about much, but they're definitely quite a bit brighter than the camera shows. I can see the axle, crystal clear, to the point that I could read small engraved writing on it if it was there... For some reason(obviously the camera phone adjusting for less light to be allowed in) it comes out darker. I was saying, on my build thread, that I'm going to adjust my Canon DSLR until I get it to represent what I'm looking at. I took some of ToyoTech's rock lights, at Pismo, and the ones I took with my Canon were definitely brighter than it actually was, so that's why I need to adjust the open aperture setting. His are definitely effective though, and probably a bit brighter for each pod, but also about four times as big. Still, I can't say I would recommend my kits over that one. Those are really nice.

Alternator Upgrade: DC Power v Mean Green

Mean Green v DC Power
http://www.mean-green.com/
https://www.dcpowerinc.com/

Ultimately, I choose DC Power for a few reasons:

1) They give you the specs at idle and not just a percentage of more power...
2) local to socal which means I can run down and pick it up or return it w/o mailing it across the country
3) I like paying more, no not really, I was cringing at mean green's alternator and then I found dc power and ended up spending more

enjoy the pics

XK Glow Rock Light Kit/ 18 - 6 LED per pod w/wireless remote........

FINALLY COMPLETED! ........

I will do a complete and thorough write up of the wiring-routing from the relay module for the remote and final decisions for locations of pods, sometime in the near future. I'm taking my mom to her 63rd high school reunion, coming up... So I have a lot of things distracting me as far as work, caregiving and preparing for that( I decided why not go for a couple days to see my dad as well while we're only 45 minutes away in Laughlin Nevada) . On top of that, we are going back again for Thanksgiving...

For now, here's a couple pictures. I can't stand how my phone is taking videos of these Lights... It is totally an inaccurate representation of what they look like, so I'm not even gonna bother posting it up. I will try another one with my Canon point and shoot, & I will get some pictures with my Canon DSLR... I know with the latter I will be able to find an aperture setting where it looks exactly like what I see with my eyes.......

Very happy so far...

Again, very pleased, and I'm very glad I chose this kit. It already came in handy: A couple times, really late last night, I needed to head back out to the garage. But, I didn't want to have to disengage my alarm( waking my neighbors ) to get in and use them( if they were on a switch in a cab I would have had to of clicked the alarm to get in) , just to find something on the floor. Woot! Haha.......

i have some low profile bump stops to throw on to get me a little more travel up front. the locker and new rear suspension makes a world of difference off road, and it rides very nice on road still (this is my DD so it better drive nice).

Holy cow! Nice work! You should start a build thread. What kind of axles are those? To me it looks like it has Toyota outers, but I've never seen a differential with that shape.

Not just that but the 3rd is on the driver side like a Tacoma. (Think) yeah I'm sure it's backwards... What engine and tranny is in that toy.

Is that the rock assault axle

Super Jealous! You need a build thread so we can drool over it some more.
