Very cool find, man. Would love to have another white one. So, ... first I wanna ask... Are you back east? Just guessing by the bit of under-rust. Lots of guys on here have torn down a bit and really cleaned up the rust.

Glad to see you out having fun with it right off the bat!!! Nice lil Yota
nope im in iowa but supposedly the PO bought it from new orleans. It did have a sticker for some resturaunt in nashville so it might be true. That is the absolute worst of the rust though, from there forward the frame and all the front suspension pieces still have the paint on it. You would never find anything close to that here in the midwest. Hell my dads 2000 chevy 1500 has rust covering the whole frame and the rocker panels have already disinigrated lol. I hate salt so much.

Any info on that hub work? Did you get a rebuild kit from somewhere? I want to grab a set of hubs from the scrapper to rebuild for my runner.

Hey DOK, how you been?

Go to 93xtra cabs build or mine and look for the recent links to spacejunks hub rebuild (the link is in my build thread a few pages back.... it's also in 93xtracabs build thread, very recently)

The only things you will need are the gaskets to seal between the hub body and the truck, the gasket to seal the outer ring to the hub body, and the o-ring to seal the dial to the outer ring.

I saved money and actually made the two gaskets and just bought the O-ring. More likely than not, the o-ring you pull off is dry rotted around the inner edge. I bought mine from the stealership. I just checked Marlin Crawler and saw that I could get them for about $0.50 less after shipping. Yes, it'll take a week to come in, but you won't have to deal with the hassle from the dealer. I don't remember seeing the two different gaskets on MC, so you could always get them from toyotapartszone.com if you have a part #

OK, so you got new rings from the dealer. I've rebuilt mine a few times and the last time I just got an o-ring from the local timber supply but the dial is hard to turn now.

And because this is a photo thread I'll put up a shot of my buddy's runner on a rutted little climb. Post Your Pics!!!-spt6al.jpg

There's two issues with this, 3rd gens are likely wider and the wheel wells interfere with the window so it will only slide down 3/4 of the way.

Got my KM2's on.

Then I had to go buy a sledge hammer and pound the living hell out of my firewall for a few hours.. trimmed the fenders and ditched the liners.

The rear is fine since I cut the rust out a few weeks ago and raised everything up a fair bit at the same time.
