Welcome Ezucker!
Yes, as my buddy Richard said, "Welcome to the wonderful Proverbial Ferngully of Toyota lovers, where everyone get's their own Nymph and Minotaur habitat, and rocks and sand berms pop up everywhere you turn, ready to be rompethed upon!" hehehe... Jk, Richard
.......... I get it, as I have 'Toyotaticulitus' as well!

Hmmm,.... I'm not sure, but I had it TO THE ''mm'' when I set it up.... The thing is, when I got this rig, and up to I replaced that bumper(and a couple caps, etc.), the bumper was smushed in and down on that side. I had to spend A WHILE rigging it up and using spacers to get the bumper brackets to line up just right... Then more time to get it just right and level. I'll take a closer look... More worried bout the CV boot, lol... but also don't want my bumper to fall off, yeah? haha.
Hello,
I'm not really a noob to Toyota trucks as I drove a '76 2wd back in '76 and now daily drive an '88 2wd 4spd Reg Cab 22r with 180k. Wife drives a 2004 4Runner Limited V8.
I just picked up another unmolested 88 SR5 4x4 XtraCab with 22RE,Auto. It only has 320K miles on it so hopefully it will last awhile . This is the first early auto truck I have owned. How well will the Auto Trans hold up? I don't plan on rock crawling but It may see a shelf road or two on the western slope of Colorado.

just like the manual trans it all depends how it was maintained and how many miles are on it, they all go at some point.

seeing how clean that truck is. the auto should last you a long time. i have an auto in my 3.0 v6 runner and im on the trails all the time. just keep up with the tranny services and you will be good
Yeah, the driveway is quite odd. It's tilted up from the left, coming up the left side of the drive, and tilted the other way from coming up the right side. Richard has seen it(Redeth)... You park on it and forget that brake, when Parked like I am in that pic? It rolls forward.... Park on the right the same spot or so... rolls back pretty quickly. I will get on level ground just to see, maybe I tweaked something on that trip. I don't think so, but can't hurt to check, right?
I'm working on possibly doing a leaf pack mod or swap in place of the Zuk coming up(F150 or OMEmu or .... whatever, something, along with hangers, etc., to get some more flex out of the rear.) CAN'T WAIT, to be honest! I was thinking of doing other things right now, blowing a cabbage crop on some major front end mod, etc..... But that'll wait a lil while. For now, I just want a LIL(LOT) bit more flex in the rear, and to have the front end all tight again and not seeping grease from the boot.... That'll get me through to next summer, where I'll have more money to play with, and until then, I can not have it down for a long time and missing out on some winter/hot springs trips, ya know?
WOOT! haha. Just thought I'd throw that all in there, Teuf, sorry, hahaha... and THANKS, good looking out
Man I love this thing. It drives like a dream. Here is the link to my thread with more pictures and info...

Hey GI! See, that's how long you've been on the low! haha... Jk, ...>>
Actually, I got these a WHILE back, several months at least. But, they are strictly(Unless I'm too lazy to change em back, lol) for offroading trips. Even more so, for local ones. I'm not going to sport these 800 miles on a Havasu trip just to wheel for a couple hour with my Nephew... While I do wheel out there, unless I was going for a week again.... I'd just sport the 31x10.50x15 BFG AT/KO's... On SR5 Alum. rims..... YEP, they're just 5 Feet from my rig in that picture, just inside the garage
hahaha.
HOWEVER, I gotta say......... THESE TIRES KICK ARSE! They're fairly noisy at lower speeds(more vibrating, not noisy) and then not TOO loud at higher speeds.... They handle GREAT, while driving in the crazy canyons in the Angeles Crest Nat. Forest(it's pretty windy for DAYZ, lol).... And they wheeled REALLY well. And honestly? I didn't get terrible mileage on them so far... Hardly noticeable difference, if any so far(Obviously there would be some, being slightly bigger both height and width, but negligible, ya know what I mean?).
I got the Tires from a guy right near me for under 200$(5 of them) and wheels for 180?? I can't remember, I'd have to look back.. It was under 400 for all 5 MT's and the Outlaw2's(one is a BFG MK1(?) ... But nearly identical, just not as fancy on the sides).
Can't wait to see that new 85 take shape, GI!
