My "new to me" 1990 2WD Base 4 speed 22R gets about 20 MPG. It desperately needs a tune up. I plan on doing most of it this weekend (fuel filter, oil, plugs, dist, rotor, wires, air filter and anything else I can think of). The PO had the carb rebuilt but this thing really studders and has a mean hesitation. I don't think a whole lot was done to this over the last few years except the bare minimum.

I really hope I don't have to rebuild the carb.. that is one intimidating looking job.

in the summer going 60mph a lot, i get 19.5 mpg. driving 5 miles to school in morning, i get 16.5mpg on my tank. going 55 for extended times with top off, i can get up to to 24 mpg. I have an 85 4runner with 35 inch mickey thompson mtzs and 5.29s and just a 22re with a cam and headers. And I do make up for the tire difference with a calculator.

Well my latest reading SUCKs. Mind you, the truck had been sitting for over a month so I'm sure that wouldn't help. 3.0L Pickup (See sig) 13.6 MPG City/Highway

88 4runner,3.slow, auto, 300K+ miles, stuxk #6 exhaust valve, possible broken rings, bad knock sensor, 26585R16 Goodyears(4 DIFFERENT tread designs) on Tundra wheels. Driven apprx 30 miles each way, every day to work. 14-16 mpg(depending how the knock sensor is affecting the ecu and dizzy. 2qts oil needed every 2 days. Think I need to rebuild yet?

Im disappointed by my MPG... 19.25 MPG 323.3 miles to the tank 65MPH, St. Louis to Chicago.

3.0 Auto, 4.88, 31x10.50x15, FRAM air filter, Mobil 1 HP (15k oil changes) & Purolator PureONE filter, perf. cams, headers, 2.25" exhaust, CherryBomb Turbo, Bosch O2 sensor.

I really thought I would do better, lol. But I do have a bad u-joint, maybe its causing bad MPG..

'92 4x4 extra cab, 3.0 130K miles, 456's 35" MTRs, 15-16 MPG average
'83 4x4 short bed 22R 107K original miles, 31" BFG AT, 16 MPG average pre-Weber and premium unleaded, expecting >20 MPG after Weber and premium unleaded. Already notice a big difference with Weber and premium!

91 2WD 22RE, 215 75R 15 tires, 201K miles.

26.7 MPG over mixed freeway and city driving, and much of the freeway driving was @ 70+ miles per hour.

So I'm thinking if I stayed at 55-60 MPH, I should be able to get 30 MPG, but I don't have the patience for that.

ok, new mileage with premium fuel and weber 32/36 for 1983 4x4: 19 MPG average. That's a conservative figure. I was expecting >20 MPG, but 19 is definetly better than 16!!

Regular fuel, a light foot and constant speed. 300 miles at an average rate of 65mph I used 12.42 gallons or 24.15 mpg

88, 4nr, 4x4, with aftermarket 235 all terrains, they are standard with 225's.
standard tranny. 3000 rpm at 70 mph; if over 50% of my driving is highway, then 23mpg's. otherwise I avg 20. tires are at 35 lbs.

142 miles to my last tank. Took me 9 days to use it up. No mpg factor. I dont care about mpgs, just what I get to a tank.

142, yes. Mind you, I have to let my truck warm-up for 15-20 minutes before I drive it if its been sitting for 2+ hours, even if its plugged in. We're in the -20F at night and negative teens during the day.
