Yo, i talked to my friend that works at that glass shop last night about your situation, he said you would need to cut the old window frame but swapping in a new unit (window/frame) would be an easy job, and then he went on to say, "if its one of the sliders (sliding windows), i could fix it with a piece of plexi-glass for free"

me personally would go for the plexi and forget about it

My favorite "F" word: FREE.

Too bad you're in the states.

I called around to a couple places including the dealership.
- Dealership wants $88 for the single pane or $550 for the whole deal (not installed).

- A couple places around town said they would charge me $290 (installed).

I think I'll search PnP and the web a little longer, it's not cold out (yet).

I was told I needed "DOT automotive glass" which I thought was stupid. Plexiglass would be sweet then I could bend the window in and pop the latch.

You were quoted $550 for the whole slider ?

the stealership here told me 1) they couldnt get the latch

and 2) the whole setup was $700.00

ooo that pisses me off!
