Panels

Okay, so my 4runner is rusted to , and I want to make it look nice.

Is there somewhere I can buy prefabbed fiberglass panels or something? What options do I have?

I've never done any bodywork before but I'm down for whatever it takes.

This picture actually makes it look a lot better than it is:

This is what it looked like before some bodyfiller/undercoating?

I've bought some of Corey's stuff from Toyotafiberglass and he does good work. Be prepared to do some hands on, though, because aftermarket replacement panels usually aren't exact fit replacement parts. He makes his a little oversized, for example, so you can tweak them to your needs. Be prepared to buy a Dremel if you don't already have one and panel bonding adhesive. Most of your good autoparts stores will have it. I know of a place in Airdrie that sells the adhesive and the gun to squeeze it with. Set aside a few hours and have at it.

Sounds like fun, I wouldn't mind doing the panels myself but I don't really have a way to mold them, maybe I have enough panel left to use that as a template.

Just buy Corey's. Pick up a spot weld cutter, a Dremel, and the panel bonding adhesive (basically like epoxy). You cut the old welds that hold your existing panels, clean up the junk hiding underneath, glue the new panels in place with the panel bonding adhesive, clamp, let set for 24 hours, then trim the excess.
