overheating when the heater is on
#21
@ andykrow is the prob only there when you put the heater on or, all the time? my temp is normal only doing the overshoot when i turn the heater on. I've figured out how to manage it but, it's sounding like the dual stage isn't going to be the solution for me either. I kind of like the fact that I can speed up the engine heating and stop it in it's tracks by sliding back to cold for a min or two then put it back on heat no problems. put a new rad and hoses on at the beginning of summer so I don't think thats the prob.

My problem seems to be there mainly on startup. It's independent of the heater controls. As I understand it the overshoot issue could happen at startup or when the heater is turned on. Why would you think the dual stage won't help?

The overshoot problem can happen with heater on or off, really doesn't matter which way it happens. In my case it was w/ heater on and just after startup. Once the engine warmed up fully, it was fine w/ heater on or off.
