Oil presure

I was going to work Thursday morning and my oil pressure fell to NOTHING. I stoped checked my oil and looked for any leaks eveything was fine. I cranked it back up and listened for any rattling or knocking , lifters or anything out of the norm.. It sounded the same as always. I figured sending unit. I went on to work.. I changed the sending unit and checked the wire running to the best i could.. It still shows NO oil presure. Ive drove it a 100 miles or better , i'm sure its not the pump.. I have bought a aftermarkey gauge to put on it tomorow. just wondering if there is something else to check before i put this on?

only way to say is to put the gauge on, I'm afraid.

try not to drive it until you do though, in case you really have no oil pressure

I didn't get to work on my truck until late today. I bought a aftermarket gauge yesterday at Advance. I thought all of them came with metric and standard fittings to make it work on almost anything? This 1 did not. It was same size but diffren threads. I'm gonna have to go to Carquest tomorow and see if the can come up with something to fit it.. I think i'm gonna get copper tubing too instead of using that plastic one.. I HAD to drive my truck today too about 60 miles round trip.. SO, i'm positive i have oil pressure or it would be locked up

the sunpro gauge I got from autozone had the correct fitting to go in the stock sender location.

if you are concerned about the plastic tubing you could always get an electric gauge like this that has a sender that mounts at the engine so you only have to run a wire into the cab http://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDi...e&kw=SNPCP8212

The one i have is Sunpro but it only came with 1 brass fitting that screws into the block. I'm thinking it has standard threads and my truck has metric

The 22RE has BSP (British Standard Pipe) - some gauge kits come with an adapter that will work.

If he had no oil pressure his engine would have blown or been damaged long ago.

Maybe the factory gauge died, it happens.
