Obd?..

good day, i was wondering what OBD my 92 toyota 4runner has?.. OBD or OBD II?... and where is the connector... any answers?.. tnx!..

It's OBD1. The best way to check for any codes is using a metal paperclip to jump TE1 and E1 (found under the diagnostic cover by your fuse box). Turn the car to ON, not to start, and count the number of times the check engine light flashes.

If it flashes repeatedly without stopping, everything is normal.

Any breaks in the flashing designate different numbers which correspond to engine codes.

More specifically, the diagnostic check connector is under the hood, above the right fender, mounted to the fuse block there. If you open the lid, you will find a diagram representing the terminals and their function.

i got error codes 12 and 14.. what seems to be the problem?.. any thoughts?..

12- no engine speed signal sent to the ECU for 2 seconds or more after STA (triggered by turning the ignition switch to crank the engine) turns on.

14- IGF (I Got Fire) was not received by the ECU from the igniter for 4 consecutive ignition events.

ok... i checked the connections of the igniter and distributor and the ECU... then i removed the EFI fuse for 30 seconds... jumped TE1 and E1 again and now the check engine lights flashes normaly..thanks..
