Nice Lookin'...

Hope this link works, http://www.trader.ca/Search/Details....ADS=6427552%7C ...I know it's a first gen. but I'm thinking of getting rid of my '91, not for this but I just came across it. And these...I am seriously considering the diesel.

Do you think any of them are outta price range? I'm thinking the '86 would be worth $4000 maybe less regardless of mods. Unfortunately you can never really make your money back off some mods. But that diesel...mmmmm!

I'd look into the turbo diesel. He said it was a swap and left hand drive. It sounds like it's worth a look and offer him maybe 5k canadian if it's in good shape. I would pass on the other two but that's just me, it depends on what you are going to be using it for. If it was me though I would jump on the turbo diesel.

where in canada???
anyways, i think that they are all a bit over priced, but that depends on where you live and availability of these 'yotas.
the diesel is nice, but he is lieing when he says its the only LHD in canada like that, there are a few around here...i'm sure you can negotiate a better deal

Judging from some of the phone numbers and area codes they are around Ottawa and Toronto...ya I'm kinda bankin' on the diesel. I will be mostly commuting for the next while and mild-mod offroad. My only concern would be parts for the diesel...but it's still so tempting. There was also a '98 4Runner, 190XXXkms 5sp "excellent condition", no rust and safetied in the paper for $6500...I might check that out too...depending on its service history and whether or not I'll have to throw more cash into it.

If you're close to the US border, maybe you could open up your options with our dollar being so strong.
Has anyone bought a truck from the US lately? I know some US dealerships are not allowed to sell new vehicles to Canadians...but what about used ones?

look at what the consumer report on what the average selling price is and this is for everyone I have learned a very important lesson after my truck got flipped.
Insurance will only pay what the average is for the condition of the truck.

and unless you get it in writing, mods will not add any value to it so don't over pay because if you do insurance will only pay for the basics if the truck gets totaled out.

Hmmm, good thinking. I was checkin' some out in VA and surrounding states...so clean looking compared to around here. I've only seen 2 86-95's that are clean and so many rust buckets...mine included but it runs real strong still. It's a tough choice...I've tossed in $6000 over the past year (purchase of truck incl) and wondering, "cut my loses get something for it and buy something 'decent'?" I won't be able to work that much on anything cause of my back, so I need something a little more reliable that I don't have to tinker with...even though I don't mind fixing stuff but I physically can't right now and for the next few months. I imported my old '83 Vandura conversion a couple years ago and it was fairly straight forward...just a lot of paper work. I'll check into it though because that dollar is lookin' good! And yes I'm gonna check at what any truck is worth...when I bought mine a year ago it was worth msrp $3000 and that's what I paid for it. Thanks for the advice!
