Seems to be a lot of guys on here with front hub/4wd problems. I just rebuilt my hubs and found a few broken wires at t-case. Those were my issues with my 4wd. Works like a champ now. All I have to do is regear to 4.88s and I'll be set.

I was a little off on my estimations earlier, after measuring we were only at about 16" this morning. Snow has stopped for the moment however I don't think its done completely. My tape measure is now showing a total of just a hair over 20" so far. As I write this looking out the window its coming down again.

Good morning folks,

I hope everyone is doing well.

Looks like we are turning the corner on winter here finally. Had a dusting fall last night and another round of a couple inches possible for this weekend and hopefully that will be the last of the snow for this year.

Truck has been going in and out of 4x4 without issues hopefully something was just stuck or frozen. If weather is good next weekend I will do an oil and ATF change. It is my understanding that the front tcase is lubricated with ATF and not gear oil on my truck. Does anyone know if the tcase drains when removing plug for ATF fluid or is there a separate plug/filler on the tcase itself? I have a 90-92 hanes manual but it is basically worthless for this truck and I haven't changed the front tcase fluid myself on the truck yet.

Thanks again for everyones support and information.

Ugggh!
Had to go down to Suffern today so I took the runner. By the time I got back it wasn't running right and making horrendous knocking noises. It sounds like ball bearings bouncing around in my oil pan. Afraid I may have thrown a rod or done something major. But I think that will be a different post.

I was almost home when it started, just got off 17 onto 302 and felt like it lost power. Engine was still running but when you give it gas you can hear all kinds of bad things. So ya I nursed it home and set her to rest.
I know my limitations and doing a swap myself probably isn't in the cards. I definitely don't have the tools or know how for that.

Ya now I'm sitting here scratching my head asking myself is it worth putting money into it knowing as old as it is there are going to be more issues right around the corner?
