You can buy it as a full kit (including cargo area) or as just the passenger area (front and rear seat.) I got the full kit, and installed some carpet padding underneath the cargo area, super plush for tailgating.
I just got my parts in from Ted at enginebuilder. All the goodies to do the top end service. I wasnt aware until taking a pic of the timing cover, then i saw the dreaded, Made in China sticker. If i end up using these parts i will have to change my signature. Anyone have any reviews on DNJ?

I did the full carpet kit from AAC, the quality was very good with it. I'd assume their vinyl would be too.
If you don't mind me asking what color did you get? And did you get the cut pile or Essex? And finally how does the cargo carpet attached to the back of the rear seat? Are the pieces separate or do they attached to the rear cargo area carpet? Thanks!

While you're looking into carpet/vinyl, I'd like to throw this out there... This is low on my priorities but would like to throw it out there... I'm seriously considering replacing my dirt trapping carpet with diamond plate pattern rubber garage floor runner like this. Just not sure how manageable the 1/8-inch thickness would be. Really tough and cool pattern at that.
Or the "coin" pattern like I saw in the Honda Element...

That flooring would be pretty cool. Ive used the mats and rear compartment rubber mats from fj cruisers in the past. Ive even used the rear mat from a chevy avalanche lol
You found a truck in great shape. They are getting more and more run down as time goes on. I see you are getting quite a bit done. I had to carb my 88 runner as it was getting the Cherry Manifold. I took it to the dealer, several recommended Toyota mechanics, and I have 100's of hours into trouble shooting. I like the power of the EFI and the simplicity of a Webber, but I really wish I could of stayed with the EFI on the 88. It has lost some power going to carb. I swapped in a pickup harness. I will need to fab up a rear window switch still.
A friend of mine says in the old days you could install a stiffer spring in the Distributor and really wake up a 22r. That dealer is no longer in business now. I just cant see popping for a performance distributor from LCE as they are expensive. I have never tried it and would if I knew it was worth it for power.
The 22re is a great motor but it does take a ton of hours to get it up into shape. I have gotten several trucks fixed that others had a difficult time with but the Cherry Manifold on my truck had me stumped. I have seen two other people that had the same issue and could not find the problem. A 22r is a little weak for the 4Runner. I can still do 75 mph with it as carb but it does take a while.
You have been making some quick work on this runner and is looking great as it is. Looking forward to the progress you make on it.

Hi Terry,
You may know this but just dropping a Weber 32/36, or any other Weber, isn't all that needs to be done. They are very tuneable and usually need to be tuned (re-jetted), especially if you have other performance equipment (like headers).
If the 22R has springs that control the mechanical advance it was a very popular and effective modification on the Chevys I played a while ago. I wouldn't be surprised if the springs could be used n a Toyota too. Here is a link FYI https://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-8464

Oh boy, you're stretching my memory here. I believe its the medium gray (matches pretty close to factory.) Definitely the cut pile. The carpet attaches to the seat backs just as the original does, although you need to cut all the holes. The cargo/seat back piece is all one section, which I like because it doesn't allow stuff to slide under the passenger seats.
No updates on the head gasket job but got some fishing in with my youngest son. After looking at the pics, i told him he was lookin a little soft and maybe he should get back in the gym haha
Needed a little more reliable truck to tow my trailers around the country so I grabbed this at the auction this week. Now my grandson can watch a movie in the back while we are out hunting for Toyotas
Pretty good looking rig for a GM. They just give those things away around here. I've almost bought one a couple times just because of the resale on them. Pretty good vehicles. Better than the latest versions.
Thanks Charchee. Ive had a couple of the trucks with the 6 liter. This is the first 5.3 for me. Hope it holds up cuz i love the interior and all the creature comforts
Tony - that's a really nice looking model, I always liked that Z71 package on a Chevy. We have Tahoe and it's been a good vehicle, but I've never towed anything with it.
