That is good advice, however I think because I have the body lift there is enough room to get a good coat of paint on it. If it didn't have a body lift on it there would be no way to paint it with out removing it. Since I'm going to be modding it yet I needed to get some rust protection on it.

Dont rhino line your bumper unless you dont wheel that hard!! I did that on mine, and I wheel pretty hard, so where the front has scraped on rocks it peeled off!! Its going to be $300+ dollars to have it done also...I wish I would have just painted mine!! Easier touch ups!

I finished painting it. Overall I'm somewhat satisfied and it looks decent. I've got a few weeks to decide if I'm going to do something different with it. But here is where I'm at today. The paint I used is T177 gun metal grey. It kinda looks like where i started from.

Awesume!
Did you fab this or did you purchase it elsewhere?
If you purchased it...where from and how much?
if you fab'd it...what it would it cost for you to fab one for my 90 4runner? :>)

I'd powdercoat it.
Yes,it may scratch, but the nice thing about powder coating,is if it does scratch it will remain a tad lighter shade than the original color, plus if it dings or gets bent...the powder coating will flex with it,rather than cracking, flaking or peeling like paint does.

894x4pickup quoted "Powdercoating is just another form of paint, its just applied with heat and paint"
Not necc.
Powder coating is just that. It's a colored powder that is electrically charged to the surface...THEN...heated to seal the deal.
I know a girl that owns Powder House Of Daytona in Annville,Pa. She powder coated damn near my entire 87 Ford Ranger (engine parts too) when I had it and not only was it beautiful work (w/the company offering a staggering array of colors, blends and translucent colors),the work was top notch and never failed on the trails). They also ceramic coat headers!!! (inside as well)

Yeah, I wish I had the imagination and the shop to fab this bumper. Marlin Crawler built it, and as one poster has stated it is off the shelf. I myself wouldn't consider Marlin off the shelf maybe smittybuilt but not Marlin.
Here is the Linkhttp://www.marlincrawler.com/armor/rear-bumper .
My valve covers are Powder coated and I love the way they look.

Well, Its definitely the rear, I pulled the third today and this is what I found. Chips and sheered off teeth on the ring gear.
I guess I'm going to call Marlin tomorrow and have em ship me an ARB locked rear.

I'm also thinking about putting new axles in since I'm sure that's the next weakest link in my rear drive-train.

I'll Post a how to after all is said and done, but this upgrade seems kinda easy so I'm not sure its worth it.

I'm sure the second picture plus my foot, and 9.5 PSI is what caused it.
