New Bumper What ya think

I just put it on to test fit it and admire for a little while. The Runner has a 2" body lift so the bumper is sitting a little lower than I like. It's not to bad but I don't want to give up the departure angle. I was planning to get it modified this week to fit tighter to the body. However my rear diff just started making some very expensive sounding noises. ARB upgrade anyone.. So the bumper might have to wait. I'm thinking about painting it charcoal Grey what do you think ?

Idk how it would work with the tailgate but right in the corners along the top??? My plans are actually to put lights underneath where like the spare tire holder is...gonna encase then so no rocks get a hold of em...idk...

I like the suggestion of charcoal...or funmetal (edit: GUNmetal)...or just plain black idk..i wouldnt powdercoat it though...little spendy...just if a rock hits it or sommethin...

WAIT WAIT I KNOW!!!! Chrome it!

Powdercoating....but if its gonna get scratched up...idk...i dont think it's worth the money to powdercoat it...rather pay for a better type of paint...JUST MY OPINION.

Powdercoating is just another form of paint, its just applied with heat and paint at the same time so it lasts longer and is resistent to rust...and it costs more...

It looks good, but c'mon man, it's a picture of your off-the-shelf, unpainted bumper on a truck that it doesn't properly fit due to a (cough) body lift. And who cares what you pait it with. If you use your truck for wheeling you will soon realize that cheap rattle can is all you need because you're going to be adding touch up layers every time you come home from a trail run. I like the light comment, too. Definitely need some high powered back up lights... Those aren't going to get ripped off. I'd address the mechanical issue you're having with your diff before worrying about paint and such. Sorry to sound harsh, had a bad day. It's a cool bumper and you're runner needs more dents.

Edit: Just saw your sig. Supercharged 3.4 in a 95, nice!

What's wrong with unpainted? I still haven't painted mine. I like the rustic look.

Doesn't look too bad even with the BL. I like it.

I deff think charcoal gray would look good on it OP.

Looks good period.

Good luck with the rear diff

Oh, And im sure youll update when its painted.

As far as standing up better to paint, Idk if its PC or paint, But it'll be alot easier to touch up spray paint.
Also I know some guys that have Line-Xed front and rear bumpers and wheel hard, I think it holds up well but I know most places wont give you a warranty the lining because its an offroad bumper.. YADA

We did a guys rock sliders at work with quick liner. That is the brand we use and we gauranteed him a no peeling warranty. I would paint it charcoal. That would look really good with the green runner.

I paint my stuff all with tremclad (rustolium) gloss or semi gloss black. Prep it well, clean clean sand clean. Then give it like 3-5 lite coats of paint.

I tucked my reverse lights in the sides of the bumper, will be doing it again on my girls MC bumper

Pulled the driveshaft today and confirmed the rear is on the way out. This gives me a good op to put the ARB air locker in it. Any one Know of a good 4X4 shop in MD for trans and rears ?

So the Bumper is gonna have to wait a few weeks until I can get it raised to match the body. So this morning I've been prepping the metal for paint. I used some metal prep from Pep boys it seemed to take all the grease and oils off the metal. I also used two cans of Primer over a few hours so this should be good. I bought a couple cans of Gun metal grey and this is what I'm going to use. Here's a pic after a light final coat.
I really like the ideas about the using bed liner on the bumpers and after I get it modified I might end up going this route.
Thanks for all your reply's.

I highly suggest you remove it to paint. I didnt the first time, after a few months there was rust everywhere I couldnt get sufficient paint coverage on..

p.s holy panhard bar angle!

I second that, that is what I did on mine (well not exactly rhino lining but still a spray on bedliner) and it looks sick!!
